First Round Winners
We are pleased to announce the result of the first round of the competition. The following participants were the winners of the first round based on the judges' final scores. The winners will be performing at the festival to compete for the second round. Please note that all the names are in alphabetical order. Amateur Competition Guideline
Purpose
The contest aims to give an opportunity for amateur morin khuur players to showcase the fruits of their hard work, inspire amateur players to improve their skills and reach new heights, promote Mongolian culture, and motivate others to learn to play morin khuur.
Eligibility
The contest is open to all amateur morin khuur players of all ages and nationalities except professional morin khuur players, or any music school students who are majoring in morin khuur.

Contest Rounds Kids group has two rounds. Teens and adults groups will have three rounds. 1st Round Each age group participants shall choose 2 pieces for their first round according to the following guideline.

2nd Round
32 participants will be selected for the 2nd round and all participants shall choose 3 pieces each according to the following guideline.
3rd Round Each 4 and total 12 participants with highest scores in Kids, Teens, and Adults categories shall qualify for the 3rd round. The participants who made it to the 3rd round shall choose their final round pieces according to the following guideline.

1st Round Decision Date
The result of the 1st round of the contest will be announced by August 15th, 2021. The main judge of the contest is Mr. Amarbayar Renchin, a professional morin khuurist of the “State Morin Khuur Ensemble” of the Mongolian State Philharmonic, which is named after Namsraijav Tsegmid.
Prizes and Awards
The Second Morin Khuur Festival in the USA Grand Prize Award winner and the winners of each group will be awarded with special prizes. Also, as a tradition, the grand prix trophy named after Batchuluun Tsend, co-founder of the “State Morin Khuur Ensemble” of the Mongolian State Philharmonic and People’s Artist of Mongolia, will be awarded to the Grand Prize Award winner.
